Ethan got on the news because he made a website so people could vote whether Ender's Game should be part of the 6th grade curriculum.  Another girl in his class emailed the news channel, which brought them to the school, and they interviewed she and Ethan.  Very cool for him to get in the spotlight for a few seconds!  They did end up allowing Ender's Game after a few months.

Aiden's school gave us a free school picture.  This one turned out nice so I wish I would have purchased the package this year.

Aiden's class made Minions.  The way their minions look depends on how they answered questions on a get-to-know-you game at the beginning of the school year.  What a fantastic idea.  This is Ethan's beloved fish, Fire.  He has lived a surprisingly long time. Aiden played Flag Football for the fist time this year.  He really enjoyed it.  Ethan and Aiden spent most of the day at Jen's house and raked a ton of leaves! We had huge amounts of rain and hail on the kids first day of school!  Ethan started middle school and Aiden started at Tope, where he gets to find out what it is like to be the new kid.  Lucky for him, his cousins, Thomas, Nicholas, and Estella are going there too!

Here we are visiting Jazzy and Edmund and family in Idaho.  It was an impromptu, unplanned trip because Jazzy had a stroke and I wanted to see her very badly to make sure all was Ok.  I got to see her kids and help a little with her new baby, Caleb.  The kids had fun with Jonathan and David.  Jazzy was doing better than I expected, and she is home from the hospital now and able to care for her babies.  She does have to take it slow and conserve her energy, from what my mom says.  It might be a long road for her, though, especially if she ends up needing surgery.

Last Wednesday I got in a car wreck on Patterson.  I was not at fault so the other driver got a ticket for failure to yield.  I think I was going about 40mph and did not have time to break when I saw her.  My car was completely totaled.  From looking at the car, I am amazed I did not have any real injuries.  I did get banged up a bit, as you can see from my bruises.  The mark on my arm is an airbag burn.  I also had a burn on my finger.  The small bruise on my shoulder was from the seat belt.

 We had a lot of fun spending some quality time together.  We went on a tour of the Denver Mint, the aquarium, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Zoo, Water World, and 16th Street Mall.  The last pictures were the fireworks that showed up outside our hotel window on our last night there!
