November Trip to California Part II

We also spent a few days in Disneyland.  I thought everyone had fun, but the kids are definitely not as young as they used to be, and it was apparent that it just wasn't the same this year when Aiden hardly noticed a chipmunk who was so playfully trying to get his attention.

I think he may have just been tired since it was on our third day.  I think the ultimate age for kids at Disneyland is between 3 and 6 because once they turn 9, they are too cool for all the magic.  (I'm crying inside now.)
We had three fun-packed days.  The parks were pretty quiet.  On our third day I thought everything was ruined because we waited for early entry at the Monorail station only to learn 5 minutes after we were supposed to embark that the monorail would be delayed 15 minutes.  We quickly left the line and ran to the main entrance of Disneyland and then ran straight to Fantasyland.  At that time we learned that half the rides there were closed due to wet weather or other things and it was already PACKED.  I was sadly saying good bye to Peter Pan's Flight when we decided to just cut our losses, ride Snow White's Scary Adventure and then go to Tomorrowland for Space Mountain and Star Tours, which we did.  After that, the kids were begging to ride Radiator Springs Racers (for the third time), so we headed  to Disney's California Adventure.  We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was very empty there, and none of the rides had lines, except Radiator Springs Racers, so we got fast passes and rode it later.  It ended up being a really fun, and the least crowded day, despite the rough start.  We even went back to Disneyland in the late afternoon and it was no longer packed.  We got to ride all the ones in Fantasyland that we wanted.
The boys found Monster's University near the Monster's Inc ride.  Roz noticed either Chris or Ethan at the end of the ride, because she said, "Young man in the second row, you are quite a hunk!"

We went to a place in California Adventure that allowed you to be the voice in the cartoon.  This one with Chris and Aiden is pretty funny.  I love Jafar and Iago!

Waiting in line at the Monorail station
 Submarine Voyage!

Waiting in the line for the Jungle Cruise (changed to Jingle Cruise for the holidays).  We waited a ridiculous amount of time for this ride.

On the Jingle Cruise, they had their usual funny tour guide telling those knee slappers.  He actually told some that the kids thought were pretty funny.
Aiden looking into the creepy mirror at the Haunted Mansion.
Autopia was one of Aiden's Favorites.  Ethan really seemed to like the shows more than the rides.  He loved the Enchanted Tiki Room, World of Color, and the parade.  I was with him on all of that, while Chris and Aiden just wanted to ride the rides.

Here we are at this cool restaurant.  It was really dark in there, but you are supposed to feel like you are by the bayou.  The boats from the Pirates of the Caribbean float past while you eat.

If you spin the orbs, the cartoon characters come to life!
We visited the Beast's Library and these neat enchanted books did a personality test on each of us.  The boys were  most like Mufasa (well, Aiden did it twice and the first time he was like Genie), Chris was like Marlin, and I was like Mulan.

Waiting in our seats for the Aladdin show.  We really enjoyed this live performance.  It was well done and had really neat props, including a giant snake, flying carpet, and an elephant!

The boys are riding the tires as part of their senior wilderness explorer requirements.
The boys were actually excited to see Doug!
